I am a mixed-media artist working with photography and hand stitching. I have practiced sewing and embroidery since childhood and returned to photography in recent years, after first exploring the medium in the early 2000s. My work is rooted in an appreciation for natural beauty, often focusing on quiet details and subtle moments that might otherwise go unnoticed, both in nature and in the environments around us.
By combining photography with hand embroidery, I bring texture into the image, merging what is seen with what can be felt. Stitching slows me down and allows me to develop a closer connection to each subject, spending time with the image in a more deliberate, physical way. Through this approach, I invite others to slow down, look more closely, and discover beauty in the details that are often overlooked.
My work has been exhibited at NoCo Arts and Mooresville Arts, earned an Honorable Mention at the Wilkes Art Gallery’s annual Northwest Artists’ Exhibition, and was selected for the 2026 Raleigh Fine Arts Society Annual Exhibition.
